Monday Night we completed Den Activity 4D on page 66/67 (Tell it like it isn't). For those of you who were there Monday Night you may sign off on that as "Akela" for your son and I will sign it on the next Den Meeting. For those of you that could not make it, do not worry, as there will be another time that we will be able to do that activity and and it will get signed off then.
The boys had a great time. This was a fun game and though the idea wasn't to see if they get it wrong but to learn that when things get repeated over and over many times that things get forgotten or the words change. Either by accident or on purpose. To learn and teach the boys that gossip is not a good thing to do and to only and always be honest. Honesty is one of the Cub Scouts 12 Core Values. Please also talk to your scouts about honesty and not to gossip.
We also worked on Den Activity 2D on page 48/49 (Pledge of Allegiance). Though we were not able to complete it because we did not participate in a Flag Ceremony. I thought we should do this all together when we have close to or all Scouts attending. We will work on this together at a later Den Meeting.
At the end of the meeting the boys got to meet our Tortoise "Myrtle". An Arizona Desert Tortoise. They enjoyed this very much and really like seeing him walk around in the room and also like being able to touch him.
I thank you all for being on time so that we could start on time and end on time. Keep that up as it is important to stay on track.
P.S. For the Scouts that did not make it, PLEASE send me the Belt Loop/s and Pins that your Scout earned during these past few weeks since last Pack Meeting so that I can submit those for this coming Pack Meeting which is this Monday Night the 19th at 7:00pm. I will be submitting those no later than Thursday afternoon so please get those to me as soon as possible.
thanks
